On Saturday, October 24, the APU Business Administation Department hosted its second engage seminar, titled Health Care Reform: Facts and Myths. KTUU ran a story covering the event. To access the story, click on the link below.
During the session, participants shared their concerns and opinions about health care reform, then learned the facts about what is being proposed in Congress. They got a look at different health care systems around the world, and in Alaska, and learned how they perform in terms of costs, access and quality of care.
Other speakers shared how Alaska’s Legislators are reacting to current proposals, and discussed how faith, media coverage, mental health and preventative lifestyles factor into the solutions being proposed under health care reform.
