APU Associate Professor of Outdoor Studies, David McGivern, was honored on October 14, 2009 at Eklutna Lake by the Alaska State Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation for his role in APU's 10-year partnership with the divisions interpretation and education unit.  The event showcased seven interpretive panels at Eklutna Lake that APU students designed during the fall 2008 "Alaska Natural History Interpretation" course at APU. James King, Division Director, presented the award to McGivern who was joined at the ceremony by four APU graudates, all of whom are employed as park rangers working for the organization.
