Are you an undergraduate student coming to APU this fall? Then read these steps to make your transition to Alaska even easier.

Pat yourself on the back - Congratulations are in order! You have met or exceeded APU's admissions standards and you've completed your first step towards personal academic success. You now have three important tasks ahead of you to prepare for your journey to Alaska.
First, you should have received a yellow card along with your admissions letter. If you haven't done so already, fill out the card indicating that you plan on attending APU, attach the $100 tuition deposit, and mail it back to admissions. If you prefer you can call the Office of Admissions (800.ALASKA.U) and pay with a credit card. Submitting your tuition deposit will allow you to receive your housing assignment and register for Journeys (more on that below).
Second, you're going to need a place to stay, so it's time to apply for housing. The online housing application will ask you questions about your preferences in rooms and roommates. Housing is guaranteed to all first-year students, but the sooner the better as far as getting a perfectly matched roommate. You can find great information about living on campus on the Housing & Residence Life section of the website.
Third, the week before classes start you'll be busy with Orientation Week, your introduction to APU. In another APU tradition, new students have the opportunity to take part in an Alaskan orientation known as Journeys. This week-long outdoor excursion will introduce you to Alaska's backcountry along with future friends and classmates. Visit the Journeys page for more information and registration forms.
That's it! Three simple steps and you're that much closer to starting your journey with Alaska Pacific University. As always, if you have any questions please call us at 800.ALASKA.U. We're looking forward to meeting you this fall.
Your friendly Admissions, Housing, and Outdoor Programs teams.
