ABOUT DEGREE COMPLETION PROGRAM
|
|
Today's increasingly complicated environments demand professionals with a comprehensive knowledge of the modern workforce. And this demand is growing for leaders at every level. The Degree Completion Program offers the adult student a number of options: Associate of Arts in Business Administration and Bachelor or Arts degrees in Accounting Information for Management, Business Administration and Management, Human Services, and Health Services Administration. Some of the characteristics of the program include:
- Proven Quality
We believe that a college degree is earned, not awarded. As an accredited university, our graduation standards exceed those of many other institutions. You will be taught by faculty members who are scholar practitioners in the fields of accounting, business administration and management, health services administration, and human services. APU is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
- Small Classes
Your classroom learning experiences reflect APU’s active learning philosophy: independent research, peer-group learning, projects, writing, and reflection. Active learning classes are hands-on where you learn by doing. From the accelerated delivery to the emphasis on collaborative learning, the entire program is dedicated to increasing your productivity.
- Life Friendly Schedules
Course schedules meet the needs of most adult learners by offering unique, seven-week modules with courses that meet only one evening per week (normally 6-9:50 p.m.). Degree programs offer busy, working adults the opportunity to come on campus for classes or take distance classes. Full-time status requires taking only two classes at a time. If part-time status works better for you, take only one class at a time.
- Programs for Working Adults
The accelerated degree programs consist of courses focusing on developing competencies in each program. Whether your motivation is personal or professional, the DCP degrees offer opportunities to enhance your knowledge.
- Transfer-Friendly
Although you are required to have completed 60 credits to be admitted to a DCP degree program, APU’s liberal transfer policy helps you get credit for the academic work you have completed at other institutions. If you have less than 60 credits, you might consider completing an Associate of Arts in Business Administration at APU or investigate programs through which adult students receive college credit for knowledge they have already acquired. Your life and /or work experience can translate into a total of 32 credit hours of documented experiential learning.
- Personal Attention
You will be welcomed to APU by admissions personnel and then guided through your coursework by your academic advisor. You will receive personalized advice, encouragement, and guidance to meet your academic goals.
