You can afford the RANA Distance Education Program!
Our program may sound expensive, but most students receive need-based or merit-based financial aid from various sources including: Federal and State governments, regional corporations, employers, village councils, schools, VA, and nonprofit institutions.
Representatives from APU's Student Financial Services will work with you to develop a financial plan, to help budget for your education and to take advantage of as many scholarships, grants, and loans as possible.
It's important to plan ahead for college expenses.
Tuition for RANA students is calculated per credit hour. For 2010-2011, the RANA tuition rate is $400 per credit hour.
Depending on the content of a particular course, there may also be a course-specific fee (estimated from $30 to $50). And, every course will require that you purchase textbooks or other course materials (ranging from $25 to $300).
Per semester - assuming you have a full-time load (12 credits) - we recommend you budget for the following:
- Tuition $4,800 (12 credits @ $400 per credit)
- Books and Supplies $500 (approximate)
- Residency Expenses $1,500 (approximate airfare and accommodation)
TOTAL: $6,800 per semester
How can you plan to pay for these expenses?
Planning for your college expenses can be complicated, but we will help in whatever way we can.
Anyone can apply for financial aid. To begin that process, you will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. With your FAFSA application, you will be calculating how much financial aid you are eligible to receive.
The amount of financial aid for which you are eligible is based upon your cost of tuition as well as your total cost of attendance (tuition, books, residency, and living allowance).
All of the direct costs mentioned above (including tuition, fees, cost of books, and travel for residencies), as well as the cost of purchasing a computer, will be used to calculate your eligibility for financial aid.
There are an array of other sources that offer scholarships if you take the time to apply.
