APU has developed an outstanding geographic information system (GIS) laboratory.
Alaska Pacific has developed an outstanding geographic information system (GIS) laboratory. The laboratory currently houses 22 workstations running the latest versions of GIS, statistical, analysis, and graphing software as well as a full suite of peripherals including printers, plotters, scanners, and digitizers. Administered by Alaska Pacifics Environmental Science Department, the GIS Lab offers an excellent resource for teaching as well as for student projects, thesis work, and faculty research, primarily in conservation biology and environmental science. More than half of the graduate student theses completed in MSES have used the GIS Lab.
