APU Environmental Science students tend to do more than simply learn actively, they try to use those activities to make a better world through advocacy.

Such opportunity abounds since many national environmental advocacy organizations maintain local offices in Anchorage. Some of those non-governmental organizations include:

Certainly, science may lead to conclusions, among some at least, that action is required. In many cases, if a rewarding academic experience is also gained, academic credit has been earned through advocacy on particular controversial environmental issues.
