As a student in our department, you will work closely with faculty mentors across your major coursework, you will develop skills to plan and implement projects, and you have access to amazing resources in Alaska.

Graduates of our department:

• Will gain knowledge in a diverse array of natural and management sciences
• Will complete significant environmental projects including class exercises, internships, and field experiences, culminating in a senior project
• Will possess technical abilities in mathematics, statistics, GIS, as well as field and laboratory practices to address contemporary environmental and natural resource issues
• Will develop good oral and written communication skills

Students of our department go on to graduate school or find meaningful employment with environmental consulting firms, industry, non-government organizations, and government agencies.
