Your pathway to become a career & technical educator.

Relying on active learning strategies and distance-learning delivery, the Associate of Arts Career and Technical Education degree is for subject-matter experts aiming to become effective trainers in career and technical education.

Designed in conjunction with the Seward-based Alaska Vocational Technical Center, this Liberal Studies degree uses a “train the trainer” approach to covering learning theory, instructional media and instructional strategy. Plus, coursework satisfying the AA degree may be applied toward a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Students complete 32 credit hours of general university requirements delivered by APU’s RANA Distance Education Program and 32 credit hours of work in the major delivered online from AVTEC.
