- An appreciation of the Liberal Arts and Sciences as liberators of the mind and spirit from narrow thinking and ignorance.
- The self-understanding and self-direction that encourages students to pursuits congruent with their interests and values.

Work with your advisor to set YOUR specific goals.
Liberal Studies asks students, in consultation with their advisor, to identify specific competencies that are needed for successful achievement of their individual program goals.
This process is linked to the core components of the Liberal Studies program: the seminars, directed studies, the junior practicum experience and finally, the senior project.
