Maybe you’ve known since forever that you wanted to study U.S. history. Or maybe you’ve discovered that U.S. history combined with religion studies from a feminist view is the interdisciplinary approach for you. In Liberal Studies, there’s a place for students committed to a single discipline as well as students who want to investigate from multiple views.

We especially welcome seekers – students who arrive with multiple talents and interests but are unsure about a professional or personal education goal.  APU's small size allows faculty to work closely with you as advisors and mentors, and with the aid of the arts and humanities, to help you better understand yourself and the world.  Our emphasis on self-directed learning helps students establish a college path that’s rewarding, challenging, and purpose-driven as you pursue your goals beyond college.
