MSES students may compete for APU graduate assistantships open to all applicants and continuing students. Typical awards are three-credit tuition waivers. Responsibilities vary and usually include teaching and research. Assistantships valued at more than $40,000 are granted by the Environmental Science Department every year.

Graduate research fellowships for Environmental Science-related studies are awarded in national competition by NASA and the National Science Foundation. APU is proud of its MSES students over the years who’ve received these full-ride fellowships.

While funding for thesis work varies by project, most MSES students win financial backing either through research grants or active collaboration with agencies and organizations.
