Karen Baker, M.Ed. Instructor of Education Graduate Program Director Education Department kbaker@alaskapacific.edu • M.Ed. Secondary Education, University of Nevada Las Vegas • B.A. English and Education, University of Maryland • Lt. USNR, ret.
I began teaching in California, then to Nevada, and finally to Alaska. I have experience in all grade levels, K-12 with most of my work (and heart) in middle school.
I moved to Alaska with my husband in 1975 and began public school teaching in the Anchorage School District. I taught both Special Education and middle school Language Arts at Romig Middle School until my retirement in 1998.
I have worked as an adjunct at Alaska Pacific University since then in both the Education Department and RANA. My work has taken me all over Alaska and has been a constant joy for me. I am committed to bringing excellent teachers into the classroom and especially into rural Alaska.
