Ted began teaching at Alaska Pacific University in 1995. He is the director of the Alaska Science Center and Alaska's NASA Educators' Resource Center, providing materials and training to students and teachers in rural Alaskan communities as well as in Anchorage. He is an active member and regular contributor to the efforts of the Alaska Science Teachers Association and the Alaska Council of Teachers of Mathematics. He has made numerous professional presentations at the National Science Teachers' Association and National Council of Teachers of Mathematics conferences, as well as the Alaska Society for Technology Education, the National Rural Educators’ Association and the Society for the Provision of Education in Rural Australia co0nferences. Ted is a certified K-8 teacher in Alaska and continues volunteer teaching at all grade levels. His research interests center around finding ways of improving teacher preparation, especially in the areas of science and mathematics. Most recently, Ted taught two online courses from Australia while his students participated in Alaska. He is committed to preparing APU graduates to successfully meet the challenges of teaching in Alaska and the world.
