Gina Miller Instructor of Writing Director, Writing Program Liberal Studies Department gmiller@alaskapacific.edu • M.A. English/Rhetoric, University of Alaska Anchorage • B.A. English, Washburn University Gina Miller earned her BA in English with an emphasis in Literature at Washburn University in Topeka, KS where she was also born and raised. She decided to move to Alaska at the age of 22 to pursue her MA in English with an emphasis in Rhetoric at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Upon completion of her degree she was hired on at APU as an Instructor of Writing in the Liberal Studies Department where she has now worked for three years. Gina is also the Director of the APU Early Honors program, which serves as an alternative to the senior year in high school and provides a challenging springboard into college for Alaska seniors. Her research interests include the rhetoric of science and genre theory. She is currently in the process of publishing an article on how Darwin constructs his ethos (credibility) in On the Origin of Species, and she’s jointly writing an article that explores the role of service learning in adult learner courses.
