My educational philosophy is still evolving but is rooted in Kenneth Burke's observation that, “A way of seeing is also a way of not seeing.”
I came to Alaska Pacific in 1987 after teaching at Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota, and at Washington State University. I have also taught at the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla, Washington.
I am the author of two books of poetry and enjoy collaborations with composer Alan Schmitz that have resulted in songs for solo voice and chorus performed at national and international festivals and competitions. |
