I have taught at Alaska Pacific University since 1993. My personal interests include hugging, hiking, long distance running, traveling, and reading. I am a counseling psychologist whose professional areas of interest include brief therapy, human consciousness, love and interpersonal relationships, and alternative healing methods. I am currently in the process of writing a book which outlines my own theory of personality and its applications in counseling.
I love experiential teaching and working directly and personally with students. I emphasize the affective domain in my teaching methods and attempt to nurture the creative power of imagination within students. I encourage them to believe in the magic of life and learning, to enjoy each precious moment for what it has to offer, to gain the wisdom to understand problems as opportunities for growth, and to be so busy living in the moment and taking in the wonders of life that they will never have time to worry.
