Alaska Pacific University’s Master of Arts Program (MAP) is designed for experienced, professional, adult students who know what they want to study and will learn more in a mentored, project-based master’s degree program than they would in a classroom-based program. The MAP is also designed to give working professionals maximum flexibility to:
- Design a customized program of individually mentored studies and projects
- Work at your own pace
- Set your own hours
- Use projects in the workplace as part of your graduate program
- Pursue your own academic area of interest
The MAP is demanding but incredibly rewarding. Often, MAP students pick topics that are fresh and cutting-edge in areas in which they have prior experience or backgrounds. However, the MAP can also be a very effective way to take a new direction, to change careers, or to develop a specialty. It is a highly independent program that allows the student to customize their experience.
