Like most private colleges, we require specific grade point and test score averages for our new students. But don’t believe for a moment that we only look at the statistical side of our candidates. We are looking for students with the potential to gain the most out of the quality and excitement of Alaska Pacific. We are looking for students who want to explore their potential to the fullest.
In evaluating our candidates we look for evidence of high academic scholarship or promise; demonstrated leadership; interesting personal qualities or exceptional talent; and evidence of imagination creativity, and motivation.

At Alaska Pacific University, we recognize how important it is to choose a college that meets all your needs and expectations. We believe that the best way to make this significant choice is to have a complete picture of what life would be like at Alaska Pacific University. In hopes of presenting you with this complete picture, we are offering three different options for visiting the campus.
The first trip we offer is a fantastic summer visit program - Adventures in Alaska. This trip is for high school juniors only and will give you ten glorious days to see Alaska at its prime - the summertime.
The second option is to come and get a Semester Snapshot. This is a short but intense campus visit - 3 full days of Alaska and Alaska Pacific University. These are scheduled during the academic year to give you a true slice of life as an APU student.
Finally, you can always arrange a Day Tour. If you are going to be in the area please call the Office of Admissions and set up a meeting with one of our counselors and have a tour of the campus.
