![]() AdmissionsGraduate Admission CategoriesFull Admission Full admission status is assigned to all graduate students who have completed their admission file and meet the minimal requirements for admission to the University. Financial Assistance can be disbursed to graduate students who have been fully admitted to the University. Early Admission Early Admission status is assigned to graduate students whose admissions files are complete enough to determine that they meet minimal requirements for admission to the University. However, their files are missing certain documents necessary for completion of the admissions process. Graduate students in this status have not registered for classes and are not eligible to receive financial aid. Admission Hold Admission Hold status is assigned to those graduate students who have received an Early Admission status and choose to register. This status requires the student to submit missing documents within a six-week period from the date of registration. The financial aid office will hold all approved awards until the required documents are received and the student is granted a full admission status. Upon receipt of full admission status, financial aid will disburse approved awards. If the student does not meet the six-week requirement, they may be withdrawn from the academic program (pending discussion with the academic dean or appropriate program directors) and placed in a non-degree seeking program status. As a non-degree seeking graduate student, they will be required to pay full tuition in order to remain registered. Their approved financial aid awards may also be withdrawn. The Admissions Department will monitor and update the application files. Provisional Permit Provisional Permit status is assigned to graduate students who have been admitted but still need to complete program prerequisites or remedial and/or tutorial work while enrolled at the University. This status is granted by the appropriate Program Director. The time limit required for completion of this work will be determined by the Program Director that grants this status. Students who do not satisfactorily complete the specified requirements, within the prescribed time period, will be subject to having their enrollment at the University withdrawn. Provisional admission does not include the waiving or the waiting for documents such as test scores, transcripts or other missing documents. This status will not affect either the awarding or the dispersal of financial assistance. The Office of the Registrar will monitor and update the status of the student's progress. |
