Admissions

"I've Been Accepted to APU! Now What?"

First, pat yourself on the back — congratulations are in order! You have met or exceeded APU's university admission standards and you've completed your first step toward academic and personal success.

Yellowcard...mail it in! Second, you should have received a yellow card along with your admissions letter. If you haven't done so already, fill that card out indicating you've decided to attend APU, attach a $100 deposit fee and mail this back to APU in the postage paid reply envelope.

Third, fill out your housing application form and send this information, along with a $325 deposit, to the APU Residence Life Director in the postage paid envelope. This deposit reserves a space for you which is important because all freshman are required to live their first year in the residence halls.

Resurrection BayFourth, if you are planning on receiving financial aid and have not yet submitted your Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you will need to fill this form out immediately, either on-line or in hard copy, and mail it to the U.S. Department of Education. Please use the code 001061 on the form. This code will ensure the results are sent to APU. Once we receive it, we will process your financial aid award offer and send it to you in letter form as quickly as possible.

OtterYou do not need to apply for any APU scholarships or aid. We will automatically award to you all scholarships or aid you are eligible to receive. We base these decisions on the information contained in your admissions file and on the results of your FAFSA application.

Fifth, start watching your mail for important information from APU about student life, frequently asked questions, travel guidance, relevant dates, orientation, registration and other information. Your assigned admission counselor will be sending you this information during the two or three months prior to fall registration. Never hesitate to call yourcounselor if you have any questions concerning this process or what you need to do next (1-800-252-7528).

Journeys day's endFinally, get really excited! Be sure you know when to arrive and what to bring. Mark down the date you plan to arrive on your calendar and start making travel plans. Don't forget to arrive in time to attend journeys – a really great outdoor trip that involves the entire freshman class. Journeys is a place to meet new people, make friends and have lots of fun. Maybe a friend or family member wants to travel to Alaska with you. We can provide information that will help make the trip a total success.

We are really looking forward to meeting you, helping you get settled, and starting you out on the right foot to an excellent personal and academic experience. Again, congratulations!
