Getting started
The first step in applying for financial aid is to apply for admission to Alaska Pacific University.

Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You may submit your application electronically via FAFSA on the WEB. Be sure to include APU’s Title IV Code: 001061.

Once your application has been processed, you will receive an e-mail from the federal processor and we will receive an electronic version of the report (SAR). At this point, we will determine if we require additional documentation. You will receive an e-mail from our office requesting any required documents.

When your file is complete, your application will be verified or reviewed for accuracy. The verification process can take from one to two weeks, depending on the time of year. We encourage you to apply early and respond to requested documentation immediately. If we find errors in your application, we will correct them for you and you will receive another SAR with the new corrected information.

Verification Process

When the verification process is complete, your eligibility will be determined and you will be sent an Award Letter via e-mail.

Students who received federal financial aid of any kind must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Completing the FAFSA

Completing the FAFSA, an introductory publication for students, provides instruction on how to complete the online or paper version of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This is available in English and Spanish.
