Old Business
- Winter Dance
- The photos turned out really nice
- Anyone can come by the office to pick up pictures
- We made $425 for Toys for Tots and Brother Francis Shelter altogether
New Business
- January block hours
- The last Wednesday of January will be set aside for an executive session for setting up for next semester
- There will not be any meetings held during block
- Tina needs to leave a check request to have ASAPU help pay for tickets for the musical RENT
- Anything Else
- There is an informal volleyball club on campus and they want to join a league
- It would be $60 per player to join
- The club has about 10 people
- Food will be provided by ASAPU
- Have a paragraph written about yourself and turn it in to Andre by next Thursday for the ASAPU webpage going up
- Friday and Monday at noon, two people who are applying for Residence Life Director will be at community forums in the art room

- Winter Dance
- The road is going to be sanded by the National Guard
- Chains will be put on the vans and cell phones will be provided
- Gavin needs to know who the drivers are
- Kelly Smith needs a copy of the contract with Alpenglow and Millennium Hotel
- Photo club is going to take candid and portrait pictures
- ASAPU members will leave to decorate and setup at 5pm on Friday
- Recycling bins
- Recycling bins will be put in Mosley and Carr Gottstein and possibly Atwood
- $48 for a set of three
- Buying three sets
- ASAPU pays $92 and staff assembly will pay the other half

Budget Report with Jose
- There is $1000 left in the ASAPU budget for the rest of the semester
Old Business
- Winter Dance
- This Saturday we will go to Alpenglow for ideas about decorating
- Angelica and Tina will choose the drivers for the dance
- Task list needs to be made, so we know who is doing what
- Need to have an agenda for the dance
- Jessica will be working in posters
- Possibly get a map that shows how to get to Alpenglow
- Sarah B. will talk to the Photo club to take pictures at the dance
- ASAPU will buy the supplies for the Photo club
- We are about $1500 over budget for the dance
- Need to plan additional meetings to continue planning
- LCD Projector Proposal
- ISO wants to buy a LCD projector for students and clubs to use
- Possibly have it in the student center or have students check it out from James Christmas
- Mobility is an issue that needs to be looked at
- Weather damage is another factor to consider
- Estimate cost is $1600-$1700
- Show Steve Shore the prices before purchasing
New Business
- Student Center Proposal
- Jessica put together a proposal listing the services provided
- She also had a layout of what it could ideally look like
- If you have any suggestions, please let Jessica know
- Office Doors
- The doors to the ASAPU office possibly will be changed to a swipe system
- Angelica is going to talk to Linda about the cost
- Anything Else
- It will be $92 for two bins and set up for the recycling bins
- Tabled it do to time
- Kelly Smith wants to set up a leadership retreat in February
- Possibly the third week in February
- Vania Hawkins is doing a senior project on food and emotions and how they are related
- Wanted to know if ASAPU could help with purchasing the food that she is going to be discussing in her Senior Project
- ASAPU cannot fund senior projects, but she can ask clubs if they can help her
- The final three people for the residence life director position will be visiting the school
- We will get an e-mail when this is going to happen

- Student Housing Proposal
- Kelly Smith has the proposal and will present it to the executive committee meeting
- ASAPU Retreat
- Topics discussed at the retreat:
- Student Lounge/Student Center
- Student advocate and Stop the Hate
- Angelica, Jessica and Meghan will be working on the student center
- Sarah J., Naira, and Andre will be working on Stop the Hate
- Meet the President
- About 30 people showed up to the event
- People seemed to enjoyed it
- Ellen is thinking of making this a tradition at APU
New Business
- Water Question
- ASAPU is paying $34 a month for the water cooler in the copier room in Atwood
- It has been brought up that because ASAPU has more people in the office so we should pay more
- If ASAPU is paying for it, it should be open to the students

- Library Advisory Committee
- This committee would like a student UAA and APU on their board
- Need more information before making a decision
- Donation list
- The list is in the office
- Money is going to Toys for Tots and Brother Francis Shelter
- During office hours please call a few numbers from the list

- Linda gave us spare keys and they are in the box outside of the office
- Naira is going to change the combination and notify everyone of the new code

- Pete Plywood has asked if we can hold the position for him for next semester
- If he wanted to reapply for the position he can, but we cannot hold the position

- ISO wants to buy a LCD projector to rent out to clubs and students

- Angelica will bring it up at the floor meeting tonight

- LS 203 Symbolic Logic will now satisfy math GUR
- LS senior project will be 3-12 credits so that students can take it in more than one semester

- $17,000 is for the clubs
- About $2500-$3000 is going to be spent on the winter dance

- Winter Dance
- Andre and Kelly are going to Kinko's to get the tickets made
- There will be a donation list in the office, call for donations when doing office hours if possible
- See if the graphic artist will make a poster for the winter Dance in the next two weeks
- Have a booth in Grant Hall in the evening to sell tickets to DCP students
- Use one of the empty bulletin boards in Atwood to promote the dance

New Business
- Issues w/ Kelly Smith
- Kelly is going to talk to financial aid about notifying students about the changes in their account
- Also he is going to be talking with Kelly Moore about the freshman class Self and Society
- Kelly wants to have one ASAPU member on the hiring committee for Residence life director
- ASAPU Retreat
- The agenda for the retreat will be in everyone's box later today
- We will meet at 9am in front of the office and leave by 9:15am

- Student affairs are taking a van to the Alaska Native Heritage Center on Saturday
- There is a basket weaving class on Sunday in the art room at 3pm

- Meet the President
- About 20 people have told Kelly that they are going
- Kelly is going around the dorms asking freshmen if they want to come to the dinner
- ASAPU members are welcome to come and must RSVP with Kelly
- Winter Dance
- The place for the dance has been changed to Alpenglow
- It costs $1100 to rent Alpenglow
- Decorations need to be bought by next week
- The place is reserved 5pm-1am, so there is time to setup and cleanup
- A cleaning crew has been hired, they will be paid $30 an hour
- The first floor will be for food and drink
- The second floor will be where the dance is held
- Andre will make a schedule for the times the vans will leave

- Angelica put a draft of the response letter in everyone's box
- If you have any suggestions, please let Angelica know
- Recycling
- We received an e-mail from the recycling committee stating the prices of bins

- The retreat is November 16th, 10am-5pm
- It will be held at the Kellogg Farm
- We will discuss about creating a ASAPU web page at the retreat

- Talked about the ski team and their upcoming events
- Kelly Smith is putting together a committee to hire the next Residence Life director
- He wants one member from ASAPU and one member from RHA to sit on this board

- The class "scientific diving" has been approved as a marine biology class
- Trying to get departments to make students aware of the portfolio that is needed to graduate earlier than it is usually done
- The wording for practicum and practica are now this: Practica is when you have internships and practicum is what you need to graduate

- Dan Post is putting together a RA event for November
- Climbing Night at Anchorage Rock Gym
- November 23rd, 6-10pm
- Asking for $150 from ASAPU to rent the gym for the night
- He is getting $100 from the Outdoor Club and $150 from RHA
- Open to all students, flyers are going up at the climbing wall, Mosley, Grant Hall, and Carr Gottstein
- Possibly have the first hour be an introduction to climbing for beginning climbers
