Starting at APU this year, my goal is to achieve something that I can be proud of; I want to be a role model for my children.
I believe education leads to the kind of wisdom that we all need in our lives. Education makes a difference.
At the beginning of the semester, I was quite nervous. I thought that having been away from school for almost two decade, it would be difficult to get back on track, sit in a classroom again, and compete with freshmen who are right out of high school. Then I realized I can do this. I am aware of the challenges ahead, but I know — with heart willing — nothing is impossible. It is a noble endeavor that always leads to success. This is my endeavor. Overall, I believe I am doing fine as far as my grades go, and I hope to improve further in future semesters.
APU inspires me to pursue my dream. The small classes and great professors make the learning process easy to comprehend. That’s important since English is my fourth language!
I come from Mali. My wife and I welcomed our second child into the world at Thanksgiving. I am a People-Mover driver for the city of Anchorage and a full-time student at APU. This is a challenge, but not impossible.
