Job Opportunity: Counseling Psychology and Human Services Department

The Counseling Psychology and Human Services Department invites you to apply for a faculty position at the Assistant or Associate level. Alaska Pacific University is a small private liberal arts and sciences university providing personalized, experiential, hands-on instruction “in the field” with Alaska as its primary classroom. The faculty at APU are passionate about teaching, involved in curriculum development and design, interested in interdepartmental collaborations, invested in student growth within the classroom and within the small campus community, and appreciative of creativity in scholarly pursuits.

Responsibilities of this position include teaching in the Master of Science in Counseling Psychology and the Bachelor of Arts in Counseling Psychology programs, serving on university committees, and collaborating with the department to develop and enhance current programs.

Requirements for the position include an earned doctorate in Counseling Psychology or a closely related field, demonstrated excellence in skills related to adult education, two or more years of direct clinical service provision, and eligibility for relevant credentials such as licensure in the field. Candidates with experience providing supervision, working in diverse organizations, or developing relationships in the state of Alaska will be given preference.

Materials received by June 1, 2013 will be given priority consideration. Interviews are expected to occur shortly thereafter, with an anticipated start date no later than August 15, 2013. The position will remain open until filled.
