A varied career proceeded Dr. Stewart’s time at APU. Having worked for local, state, and the federal governments, she brings extensive experience in human behavior and the Alaska Native/American Indian health care system. As a private consultant Dr. Stewart has worked with organizations and individuals in a wide range of industries (i.e., health care, engineering, law, government, education) improving effectiveness and efficiency through organization development, communication, team building, leadership development, coaching, and strategic planning.
At APU, Dr. Stewart brings her background in human behavior to the application of sound business principles. Over time, through both teaching and consultation, she has come to believe that the sound management of the “human capital” in organizations is the most unpredictable aspect of businesses. Her goal is to educate and develop students who are exceptionally skilled in the foundations of business administration who can also be wise, humane, and ethical business leaders.
