Student Accounts Specialist

Under the general supervision of the Director of Student Financial Services, the Student Account Specialist provides professional and administrative support to the Student Enrollment Services Division and serves as the primary student accounts representative.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintains Student Receivables accounts: establish accounts, record the appropriate entries, reconcile balances, verify and issue students’ billings
  • Provide customer service support via telephone, fax, email, and individuals coming into the Student Enrollment Services office
  • Primarily processes all cash transactions
  • Research and recommend uncollectible accounts for collections to the Director
  • Reconciling daily cash receipts and daily bank deposits, and prepare all corresponding reports submitted to Accounting and Finance Office for review and journalizing
  • Verify and submit to the Director a weekly Aging Report, including a list of accounts currently on hold for non-payment

Minimum Qualification:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years customer service experience with 6 months cash handling experience
  • Minimum 2 years office experience with knowledge of office practices and procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of academic office procedures in higher education setting
  • Knowledge of CAMS Enterprise
  • 2 years of accounts receivables experience preferred
  • AA Degree preferred
