Human Services The Degree Completion Program is designed for working adult students who for personal and professional reasons want to return to college to complete a degree in business or human services fields. The program offers accelerated, seven-week modules (or courses) available in the evenings once a week. DCP curricular are designed to integrate theories and concepts learned within the classroom to everyday work. Thus the program is for working (paid or voluntary) adults. Methods of instruction reflect APU’s active learning philosophy. Classroom learning experiences include attending lectures, doing self-directed studies, engaging in independent research, participating in peer-group learning, executing projects, writing and reflection, etc. The DCP seeks to build a competency base that is relevant for professional careers in management, health services administration, accounting, and human services. The program goals include:
Eligibility to enter the DCP program:Students with 60 or more college level credits may enter the DCP program. At the time of application, if a student does not have 60 credits, she/he may earn those credits in one or more of the following ways: CLEP/DANTES; credits for prior learning; testing out of courses. |
