![]() Business Administration DepartmentHealth Services AdministrationThe program in Health Services Administration is directed at students who have experience in the health services industry —both those with clinical experience and others working in or in support of health care organizations— and who wish to advance their careers. The program provides an overview of health care systems, skills enhancement for project and program management, and understanding of the business functions necessary for providing health care services. The major consists of modules that are delivered both on-line and via video-conference to rural residents and on-site to Anchorage students. The following are the degree objectives for Health Services Administration:
Admission to the Program Students admitted to the program will be expected to have completed a minimum of 60 semester credits at APU or by transfer and to be working in the health services industry. DCP courses are offered in module format courses meeting once a week for four hours with other work on-line; two modules to a 15-week semester; three semesters annually. Non-DCP courses designed to meet General University Requirements are available each semester, (both on campus and on-line). Electives in the Degree Completion Program meet in a similar format. Distance Education students enrolled in a DCP major may take all their courses on-line after a start-up residency at the beginning of each semester. |
