Beyond the Classroom

United States Geological Survey (USGS)

Located on the Alaska Pacific campus, USGS includes several divisions such as the Alaska Volcano Observatory, EROS Field Office, and the National mapping division. USGS provides a rich resource for student internships and field work.

GIS Computer Laboratory

Also located on the Alaska Pacific campus is the Geographic Information System (GIS) facility. The GIS lab has the most recent version of ARC/Info loaded on a UNIX platform. The lab contains digitizers, plotters, printers, and a resource library for comprehensive GIS work.
