  1. How does Tuition Work?

    Visiting students will continue to pay full time tuition at their home institution.
    No additional tuition needs to be paid to APU.

    1. What About Course Fees and the Student Fee?

      Some APU course have a fee attached to them for lab equipment, travel, and other special expenses. All fees for courses taken at APU will be paid by the visiting student directly to Alaska Pacific University. The Home Institution's Financial Aid can potentially cover these fees, and the Home Institution's Financial Aid Office may send a check to the student, care of APU, for these charges. Talk with your financial aid officer to make sure that you have sufficient financial aid to cover fee charges if you want to take such courses.

  2. Who pays Room and board?

    Visiting students will pay all room and board charges directly to APU. If the Home Institution's Financial Aid covers all or a portion of a student's room and board, the Home Institution's Financial Aid Office will send a check to the student, care of APU, to cover room and board here.

  3. How long can I attend APU?

    Visiting students may attend APU for one full semester taking up to 16 credit hours.

  4. When can I attend APU?

    Visiting students may attend APU during their Sophomore or Junior year.

  5. Do I have to be in an Environmental Science program to attend APU?

    No, students may be enrolled in any undergraduate program at their home institution and may take any undergraduate courses at APU for which they are adequately prepared.

  6. Will the credits I earn at APU transfer back to my school?

    Yes. Students are responsible for making sure that the courses taken at APU will fit into the program at their home institution.

  7. Are travel expenses covered?

    Visiting students are responsible for arranging and paying for their own transportation to Anchorage for their semester at APU. If you are receiving financial aid, consult with your financial aid officer to make sure that your financial aid is adequate to cover travel expenses to and from Anchorage.

  8. Do I need to fill out an application?

    Visiting students should check in with their home institution for proper procedures to become and Eco League student. The Admissions Office at Alaska Pacific University will send students all the information they need to register at APU. An Eco League student does not have to be fully admitted to APU, simply to register for courses.
