 Student LifeCareer Services Office The Career Services Office is dedicated to educating and equipping Alaska Pacific students for effective decision making and skill building in the lifelong process of career planning. As the link between APU and the employment community, the Career Services Office encourages student and employer relationships. In practice, the Career Services Office assists students in clarifying values, to identify skills and interests, and to locate job information. A resource library is available with career information relating to each academic department at Alaska Pacific. Workshops are offered throughout the year in job search and preparation skills including resumé writing. The Career Services Office encourages one-on-one consultations and coordinates practica and internships, community projects, and employment. Bulletin boards in Atwood Hall post and update part-time and full-time job announcements. Get togethers with local employers provide students with career information, summer employment possibilities, internships, and community service opportunities. Students who take advantage of these counseling services, workshops, experiential learning, and networking opportunities graduate with the career focus, knowledge, and skills sought by employers. |
