TBA Theatre Presents: Babes in Arms @ Earl R. Brown Auditorium in Grant Hall
May 13 @ 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm

May 11-13, 2012 Friday & Saturday at 7PM, Saturday and Sunday at 3PM.
At a summer stock theatre, a group of young performers use their conviction to mount the original revue they’ve created, while dodging the underhanded attempts of the surly theatre owner to squash their efforts at every turn, complicated by the overbearing stage mother of a beautiful ex-child star and the inflated ego of a hack southern playwright. But of course the show must go on, and so it does in a resolution of comeuppance, reconciliation and romance. This quintessential Rogers & Hart musical boasts one of the greatest scores ever written, including My Funny Valentine and The Lady is a Tramp.
Cost: $10 General Admission, $8 Student/Military, $5 Children 12 & Under.

Safe Zone Celebration Week @ Atwood Center
Apr 11 @ 11:00 am – Apr 19 @ 9:00 pm

Come join us for the Safe Zone Celebration Week hosted by APU and UAA.

We are proud to be bringing an excellent educational opportunity to the APU community that raises awareness of GLBTQA (Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual, Transgendered, Questioning, and Ally) student issues and promotes a more inclusive environment at APU.

With such a small community here at APU, we feel that it is important to provide education and options for our community to ask questions and to expand their horizons. The APU Safe Zone program exists to create awareness and knowledge regarding the GLBTQA community. APU Safe Zone aims to reduce homophobia and heterosexism by educating the APU and Anchorage community.

We have several events coming up, including; Documentaries, Drag Queen Bingo, Ally Training, and the Day of Silence.

As part of an ongoing effort to expand the community’s commitment to sustainable practices, APU Dining Services will be starting a farmers market on Wednesday, August 7th from 3-6 p.m. The initial market will be small, but we have every intention of developing into a larger market with more variety. Public Lecture: "Freedom of the Glorious Children of God" @ Grant Hall Theatre | Anchorage | Alaska | United States

Jerusalem-based scholar Gregory T. Tatum, O.P will be delivering a public talk tonight, Aug. 20, starting at 7 p.m. in the Grant Hall Theater at APU. Titled “Freedom of the Glorious Children of God,” the lecture considers themes of liberation and embodied glorification.

Tatum’s talk precedes his new fall 2013 course examining St. Paul’s Letter to the Romans, among letters whose authorship by the apostle is undisputed. The class extends Paul’s liberation message beyond the familiar concept of freedom from Mosaic Law.

Holder of a doctorate in New Testament and Christian Origins from Duke University, Tatum is a professor since 2006 at the internationally ranked Ecole Biblique et Archeologique Francais in Jerusalem.

APU Farmers Market @ Atwood Center | Anchorage | Alaska | United States

As part of an ongoing effort to expand the community’s commitment to sustainable practices, APU Dining Services will be starting a farmers market on Wednesday, August 7th from 3-6 p.m. The initial market will be small, but we have every intention of developing into a larger market with more variety. Our hope is to bring the community together by providing sustainable foods, local and imported, and to promote sustainability awareness as well as decreasing the demand for GMO foods found in most supermarkets.

We will offer vegetables from Spring Creek Farm, Alaska Sprouts, and other organizations. We are also working with Organically Grown Company to provide other sustainable, organic foods, namely fruits, that are not available locally. The supply will be limited for the first few weeks; please come early to ensure you can choose among a variety of produce. Feel free to contact Dining Services with questions or comments; we are always be open to suggestions for future items or setup and encourage you to make requests so we can offer the most desirable produce.

Spread the word and help us promote the sustainable foods industry in our community!
