In response to new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance for areas with substantial or high transmission of COVID-19, Alaska Pacific University will require everyone to wear masks in all indoor public or common spaces on campus (lobbies, conference rooms, gyms, classrooms, etc.) beginning Thursday, July 29, 2021.
ANTHC will be offering a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on APU’s campus on August 26, 9 am – 3 pm. APU strongly recommends that students, faculty, and staff be vaccinated, and certain activities such as extended off-campus trips will require vaccination to participate. If you are not already fully vaccinated, I encourage you to find a vaccination site near you to get started (https://www.vaccines.gov/) or to attend the on-campus clinic in August. Getting vaccinated will contain the spread of the virus and enable you to participate more fully in campus activities.
APU has been fortunate that we have not had any community transmission of COVID-19 to date. If you are symptomatic, get tested at one of the many free testing centers; if you are not fully vaccinated and have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, you should also get tested, whether or not you are symptomatic. Employees and students must report all positive COVID test results to COVIDReports@alaskapacific.edu, and as always, if you are not feeling well, stay home!
We will continue to monitor local conditions and public health guidance and to update our campus plans as needed. If you have questions about our campus protocols, please email AskAPU@alaskapacific.edu.
