Personalized Attention while you navigate financial aid

We in Student Financial Services Office work to provide personal attention to each and every one of our current and prospective students. Student Financial Services will assist applicants providing information on applying for and receiving federal, state and private aid. Apply for FAFSA

All students who would like to apply for financial aid must complete a current FAFSA. Please apply online at fafsa.ed.gov. APU’s reporting code is 001061. Student Financial Services should receive the results of your FAFSA within three days. It will assist student financial services in determine your federal financial aid eligibility and possible need based scholarships.

 

Financial Aid Verification

Your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) was selected for review in a process called verification. Before awarding Federal Student Aid, we may ask you to confirm the information you and your parents reported on your FAFSA. To verify that you provided correct information the financial aid administrator at your school will compare your FAFSA with the information on this worksheet and with any other required documents. If there are differences, your FAFSA information may need to be corrected. Your school may ask for additional information. If you have questions about verification, contact your financial aid administrator as soon as possible so that your financial aid will not be delayed.

Tax Return Transcript

To obtain an IRS tax return transcript,

Go to www.IRS.gov and click on the “Order a Return or Account Transcript” link,
Call 1-800-908-9946, or
Go to your local IRS office to request a printed copy

Make sure to request the “IRS tax return transcript” and not the “IRS tax account transcript.” You will need:

Social Security Number,
Date of birth, and
The address on file with the IRS (address used when you filed your IRS tax return)

It takes up to two weeks for IRS income information to be available for electronic IRS tax return filers, and up to eight weeks for paper IRS tax return filers. If you are married and you and your spouse filed separate tax returns, you must submit tax return transcripts for both you and your spouse.
