The Program Area
The Institute offers graduate and undergraduate degrees and certificates. They include: an undergraduate certificate in Alaska Rural Management; AA in Business Administration; BA in Business Administration & Management; Master of Business Administration with optional concentrations in Health Administration and Finance, Executive MBA in Strategic Leadership; Executive MBA in Information & Communication Technology; graduate certificate in Investments; and graduate certificate in Innovation, Creativity & Entrepreneurship. We also offer certificates in Alaska Native Executive Leadership designed to build managerial capacity for Alaska corporations.
Duties of the Position
Full time contract carries a 9-month teaching load of 24 credit hours per year (typically, 3-4 courses per semester). Teaching assignments may cross undergraduate and graduate levels. Responsibilities include teaching, academic advising, program development and university committees. All faculty are encouraged to grow professional recognition through scholarship, research, consulting, and/or other endeavors appropriate to their chosen field. Faculty are expected to participate in outcomes assessment, curriculum development, and other university wide faculty governance activities as necessary.
Part time positions will carry responsibilities according to the load level. For example, half time appointment will require12 credit hours of teaching load over the 9-month contract period.
Rank and Salary
Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and prior experience, and is proscribed by a university-wide salary range. APU is a non-tenure college; faculty are eligible for multi-year appointments after initial contracts.

At time of appointment, preferred earned doctorate or terminal degree in
Business Administration or related field; Master’s level acceptable with professional experience.
