As communications specialist, Joey shares the stories of APU students and their academic adventures in the North. He joined APU in 2020 and previously worked as a writer at University of Alaska Anchorage. His stories have appeared in First Alaskans, Alaska, Edible Alaska, and several newspapers across the state.
Joey graduated from the College of Wooster with a communication studies major and a geology minor. He also earned a master’s degree in water security from University of Saskatchewan while studying on a Fulbright Canada grant. He has a background in outdoor education and an interest in science communication. You can find him at the bus stops and bike lanes of Anchorage.
