Matthew Ione is an enrolled member of the Native Village of White Mountain. He brings his strengths in people management, detailed organization, strategic planning, budget management, operations, task prioritization, planning, communication and team building to the APU Board of Trustees.
From 2013-2016, he was the President/CEO of Bering Straits Regional Housing Authority where he directed activities, including strategic planning in accordance with applicable bylaws, federal and state laws, rules and regulations. Ione was the Vice President/CAO of SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) from 2010-2013, responsible for the executive leadership for the administrative function within the consortium and supporting community relations for an organization with an annual operating and capital budget of $129 million.
Ione joined ANTHC as the Senior Director of Human Resources in 2016. He provides leadership for Human Resources and Clinical Education programs, including developing and implementing comprehensive human capital initiatives for the entire workforce.
Away from work, Matthew enjoys outdoor fitness activities, traveling, and all sports, especially the Cleveland Browns.
