What’s your academic background?
I have a BA in Psychology and Writing Seminars from the Johns Hopkins University, and an MA and PhD from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in Clinical Psychology

Who inspires you?
People doing everyday kindnesses for each other

What was the best concert you ever attended?
Lilith Fair-so many great performers at one time and dedicated to promoting diverse unsung female artists

Where’s your favorite place in the world?
With my family (my ‘little’ family here in AK or extended family in the lower 48)

If you could be any animal, which would you be?
I’m going mythological-Phoenix or Unicorn

What’s the last book you read?
From Scratch: A Memoir by Tembi Locke and I loved it. It’s about resilience and family, and navigating complex family relationships with people of very different backgrounds and creating something beautiful after sorrow.

What’s your favorite movie?
Wizard of Oz

What are you currently watching on Netflix?
Black Mirror and some form of Star Trek

Who would you most like to swap places with for a day?
Michelle Obama

If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?
Egypt or Ireland

What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
Well, if I told you it wouldn’t be a secret anymore, so…

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
Sapphire

Who is your least favorite superhero?
Probably the one whose name I can’t remember
