What’s your academic background?
I received my undergrad in business from a small private school in Portland, Oregon; my master’s in business from UAA, and my Ph.D. in indigenous studies from UAF. I am a born and raised Alaskan and am Unangan (Aleut).

Who inspires you?
Both of my parents inspired me. They are both deceased now, but they had so many wonderful qualities and they still inspire me to this day.

What was the best concert you ever attended?
I am going to say a Broadway production instead of a concert. I saw “Jersey Boys” on Broadway and it was a blast!

Where’s your favorite place in the world?
My husband and I go to Kona, Hawaii as often as we can. It is our favorite vacation spot.

If you could be any animal, which would you be?
A wolf.

What’s the last book you read?
I just completed my Ph.D. fall 2019 and all of my reading has had an academic focus these past few years. I look forward to reading for pleasure again! I have many favorite books, too many to list here.

What’s your favorite movie?
That is a tough one; it changes all the time. I love old classics, like “Singing in the Rain.” More recently I have loved “1917,” “The Irishman” and “Knives Out.” I’m also a Star Trek nut (classic Trek).

What are you currently watching on Netflix?
I am canceling Netflix and moving to Disney+ to watch “The Mandalorian.” Love sci-fi.

Who would you most like to swap places with for a day?
No one. I want to live in the moment where I am and enjoy myself!

If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?
I would love to spend some serious time in China with my husband.

What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
I have no secrets. I am a fly fisherman and I love fishing with my husband.

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
Pink.

Who is your least favorite superhero?
I tried watching “Deadpool” with Ryan Reynolds. Couldn’t get through five minutes of it. Not sure if the character is a superhero, but couldn’t get through it.
