Eric Packer took the National Championship title in the Classic Sprint, Reese Hanneman 2nd and Tyler Kornfield 3rd (Tyler was 4th overall,by less than a toe, but 3rd place was a Norwegian Athlete, therefore Tyler takes home the 3rd place for the Championship).
This is a first national title for Eric Packer
In the last 100m, Eric Packer and teammate Reese Hanneman were tied.
“I was going as hard as I could and laid it all out there. I had a tough race a few days ago and the memory of that was still fresh. I just wanted to go as hard as I could to see what I could do. I am super happy with the result. The best part was being on the podium with my teammates Reese and Tyler. I’ve always dreamed of being on the National podium and maybe some day winning a title. I could not have done it without the many people that support the APU ski team.” -Eric Packer 2016 National Classic Sprint Champion
