It’s with great pleasure that Paige Krichbaum accepted the Director of Dining Services and Sustainability position. Her goal is to make the “Dining Services Department” a destination. A place to gather, a place to share experiences, a place to settle the soul. Paige comes from a baking and pastry background, and her favorite thing about that profession is the joy that indulgence brings to people. What is more indulging than a [insert favorite dessert here]?
You will definitely see plenty more baked goods and desserts at the dining hall and APU catered events, as she transitions from the lead chef role into director. Paige says that she is “very passionate about sustainability and conscious food purchasing decisions, so we will be focusing on shopping local, cutting food waste, and working towards new recycling and composting projects.”
Our Kellogg Campus and Dining Services have been strengthening our relationship to bring you more locally grown produce, and providing food service for special events hosted at the farm. Our new lead chef, Elke, has many years of experience and passion for sandwiches, soups, and salads, which most of you have seen from the extraordinary selections she is sending to the coffee cart. Our new “sous chef” Jason brings a vast knowledge of balanced entrees, plating, and menu ideas that will help round out the adventurous menus we are developing. Once the crew has gained their bearings, they have suggested that they would love to start hosting cooking classes, baking classes, bake sales, care packages and much more! So if you’re hungry for a delicious experience, come by the kitchen or the coffee cart for your culinary desires.
