Amalgamated Life President & CEO David Walsh Honored, an Alaska Pacific University Alum, as One of the “2013 Irish America Business 100”
Amalgamated Life Insurance Company, (www.amalgamatedlife.com), a leading provider of life and health insurance, announced that its President & CEO David Walsh, an Alaska Pacific University MBA graduate in the Class of 1990, was selected by Irish America magazine as one of its “2013 Honorees. The Irish American Business 100 recognizes the “best and the brightest Irish-American leaders in corporate America.” Mr. Walsh, along with the other honorees, was recognized at the 28th Annual Business 100 Awards Luncheon held on December 5th, 2013 at the Metropolitan Club of New York (New York, NY). The event featured North Shore-LIJ Health System President & CEO Michael J. Dowling as the keynote speaker.
The annual Irish American Business 100 event is considered one of the premier networking events for the Irish-American community. Evidence of its prestige is the high profile roster of keynote speakers the event attracts. Among past keynote speakers were William Clay Ford, Jr., Executive Chairman of the Ford Motor Company; Anne Sweeney, Co-Chair of Disney Media Networks and President of the Disney-ABC Television Group; and Don Keough, Chairman of Allen & Company and former President/COO of Coca-Cola.
Mr. Walsh’s honor comes following a year in which Amalgamated Life celebrated its 70th anniversary and was recognized with numerous commendations from state and local government officials for its contribution to the economy and well-being of its many insured policy holders.
