Expedition Alaska takes place in APU’s fall ‘block.’ The block is a 4-week term when students take only one intensive class. After block, students are enrolled in the ‘session,’ with a more traditional course schedule. Together, the block and session comprise the semester.
For Expedition Alaska, the block allows us to start with in-depth, on-campus academic study. You then move in to the field for experiential learning. The course culminates when you return to campus for further integration and reflections about what you’ve learned.
