The Alaska Rural Management Certificate enables managers across Alaska to connect, network, and identify creative solutions to the unique challenges found in communities throughout Rural Alaska.
Create a Network. The ARM Certificate will develop a network of rural managers, who are responsible for overseeing organizations that impact the life, health, and safety of their community members.
Timely Response to Workforce Needs. For many Rural managers, leaving their communities to pursue higher education is not a viable option. This certificate program will focus on the unique challenges found in communities throughout Rural Alaska.
The Alaska Rural Management Certificate offers synchronous, online, evening courses relevant to the real-life responsibilities and challenges faced by managers throughout Rural Alaska. Our program combines topics such as business administration, budgeting, entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, and workplace ethics. These areas are studied through the lens of understanding and appreciating the complex governance systems shaping Alaska Native organizations and entities. This unique and crucial perspective provides context and substance for Rural managers.
