What degree are you pursing?

Associate Degree in Nursing.

Why did you choose APU?

I chose APU because of its focus on cultural safety in Nursing. Also, the faculty was so responsive and communicative. (It was much easier to speak to a real human at APU during the application process than other nursing programs in the state.)

What was your favorite aspect of studying at APU?

The relationships I developed with my classmates. I’m so thrilled to go out and work in the community with all these amazing people.

Reflecting on your time at APU, what stands out as the most memorable or impactful part of your campus life or learning experience?

I find that difficult times often lead to the most growth and development. I was terrified to begin my clinical practicum, but by the end, I knew I wanted to work at ANMC (Alaska Native Medical Center), and I am grateful for the experience APU provided.

What are your post-graduation plans?

I have accepted a full-time position in Family Birthing Services at Alaska Native Medical Center. I will also be continuing my studies in the BSN bridge program here at APU.
