Allison Knox is Alaska Native of Athabascan heritage and serves as Chief Advancement Officer at Alaska Pacific University, a role she assumed in January 2024. She is responsible for guiding the university’s comprehensive advancement strategy, including fundraising initiatives, alumni relations, corporate and foundation partnerships, sponsored programs, and major gifts.

Knox has more than 30 years of experience in strategic communications. Her professional background includes leadership roles in Alaska Native health care, working for her Alaska Native regional corporation, and providing communications for mission-driven nonprofit organizations. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a sustained commitment to community service, having served on the boards of the Alaska Run for Women, Bean’s Café, and the Alaska Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. She currently serves on the boards of Koahnic Broadcast Corp. and Alaska Dance Theatre.

Knox holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Northern Arizona University. She earned her Master of Business Administration from Alaska Pacific University with the support of The CIRI Foundation and the ANTHC employee scholarship program.

With a deep respect for Alaska’s diverse cultures and a strong commitment to the state’s long-term success, Knox is dedicated to strengthening existing relationships and cultivating new sources of philanthropic support to enhance APU’s ability to serve Alaska’s communities and students.
