Benjamin Hahn began working in the field of student affairs in 2001 at Oregon State University, where he served as a Resident Director. He continued his Residence Life career at the University of Puget Sound as a Resident Director for four years. In 2007, Benjamin moved to Alaska and joined Alaska Pacific University in the Campus Life Office. After a year coordinating Student Activities for APU, he served as the Director of Campus Life until 2015. Since then, Benjamin has served as the Dean of Students.

The Dean of Students Office leads the student affairs team which includes the Office of Campus Life, Office of Recreational and Outdoor Programs, Academic Advising, Chaplain’s Office, Shel ch’naq’ahnilu Center, Career Services, Student Government (ASAPU), International Student Support, and Disability Support Services. The Dean of Students also serves as the lead judicial office for student conduct code investigations at APU. The Dean of Students Office is located on the first floor of Atwood Center.

Benjamin holds a B.A. from Western Washington University (97) and a Masters of Education from Oregon State University (03). When he is not spending time with students, Ben enjoys xc skiing or hiking with his family in the Chugach State Park. You can also easily distract him by asking about old books or joining him in the Atwood weight room during the lunch break.
