Hello! My name is Johanna Belleque and I am one of the Admissions Counselors at Alaska Pacific University.
I am a Yupik Eskimo from the village of Koliganek located on the Nushagak River. I received a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I was an elementary teacher in rural schools for 6 years before switching gears. For the past 6 years I worked as a behavioral health case manager at a tribal health organization. My family commercial fishes in Bristol Bay each summer. I enjoy subsistence activities which include berry picking, putting up smoked salmon strips and canning fish. Living in Alaska provides so many exciting adventures and opportunities.
I am new to the APU community and I am excited about all of the educational opportunities offered here. APU focuses on student centered, hands-on learning experiences. We have a lot of supportive services and we are dedicated to helping students succeed.
Please contact me with any questions you have. I look forward to working with you and guiding you through the admissions process.
