Lauren Singmaster Wieland was born and raised in Colorado where she learned to love all things outside. She grew up fishing, hiking and camping with her family. Lauren earned her B.A. in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado (Go Bears!) in 2017. She taught second grade in Colorado for four years before moving to Alaska with her husband in 2021. Lauren taught second and then third grades at Muldoon Elementary for two years before deciding to go back to school to pursue her master’s at APU. She has always loved teaching and found the MSOEE program and Kellogg Field School the perfect combination of teaching and the outdoors. Lauren’s favorite things to do are hike, fish, hunt for mushrooms, have game nights with friends, read, and tap dance with The Tap Studio in Anchorage.
